Conversion of two-storey subterranean storage unit, with no street access, into large gym
At 42,000 square feet, Gymbox Farringdon is its biggest space to date, and the most impressive gym London has ever seen. Alongside its areas devoted to combat, functional training, sports performance and its treatment rooms, Gymbox Farringdon hosts a plethora of classes in its studios and curated fitness zones.
Situated in central London, underneath a block of offices and apartments presented challenges with noise, access, smoke extracts, drainage and sprinkler systems. Establishing site access involved the complete strip out of a street-level shop, the removal of two structural floor slabs and the formation of new staircases and lift installation.
